BUY, SELL AND TRADE TRAWLERS AND TRAWLERING GEAR
View all threadsSometime in the next few weeks, we will finish the spring recommissioning
and haulout of Shearwater, our 1982 Californian LRC, and list her with a
local broker. Unfortunately, our work schedules for the next few years will
prevent us from having the time to spend on her, and she deserves to be more
than a slip queen. If you are looking for an older trawler in good
condition, Shearwater may be just what you are looking for. She has a few
aches and pains as you might expect from a 30-year-old boat (She wants to
remind you that shes really only 29--you know how women are), but nothing
significant. I have not yet settled on a price, but would be interested in
working out a fair settlement with an interested buyer. Shearwater has twin
turbocharged Cat 3208s with about 3K hours, an 8KW Onan generator, Furuno
radar and GPS, Raytheon autopilot, and a recently installed inverter that
handles the house load overnight. The full flybridge enclosure is in good
shape. She has been in a shed for the past 6 = years we have owned her. She
is located at Solomons Island, Chesapeake Bay.
If you are seriously interested, contact me at mhkcdk@verizon.net. We live
in the same marina as the boat, so it is fairly easy to arrange for a visit.
