Those of you who are in the Northern area of Pierce County may know
interested persons so please help spread the word about two openings on the
King County Noxious Weed Control Board, announced by Sasha Shaw:

Two board members are being recruited to serve on the 5-member volunteer
board.  Applicants must reside within either Weed Control District 2 or 4
(visit the King County Noxious Weed Board
<http://www.kingcounty.gov/environment/animalsAndPlants/noxious-weeds/weed-c
ontrol-board.aspx>  webpage or search for the Weed Board at
www.kingcounty.gov/weeds for a map of the Weed Districts).  District 2
includes the Snoqualmie Valley, Duvall, Carnation, Snoqualmie, North Bend,
Sammamish, North Issaquah/Issaquah Highlands, and communities east of
Redmond, Bellevue and Lake Sammamish. District 4 encompasses the
south-central portion of the county including South Bellevue, Newcastle,
Renton, Kent, Auburn, Algona and Pacific.  Farmers and other agricultural
producers are especially encouraged to apply.

Board member terms last four years and meetings are generally held monthly.
The Board's primary focus is to give direction to program staff, approve the
annual noxious weed list for King County, guide noxious weed priorities
within the county, and ensure the control of state regulated noxious weeds.
To receive an application packet or additional information, please call
(206) 296-0290 or email noxious.weeds@kingcounty.gov.  Applications will be
accepted until December 12, 2011.

All the best, Tacoma.
