Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end  time: 13:00:00
Total observation time: 5 hours

Official Counter:        Chris Burris

Observers:

Visitors:
Thanks to Chris B for doing today's count.

Weather:
Temps ranged from 7C-9C. Winds began weak and from the north, swinging
around toward a somewhat stronger W and ultimately SW by end of the count
period. Low clouds verging on fog began the day, but eventually the ceiling
lifted and there was some sun.

Raptor Observations:
When the sky got higher, so did the birds… and wind the wind swung
around, the birds went inland. The last hour was spent frantically
relocating repeatedly between Dexter and Roberts to follow the TV line,
which was where most every other raptor was by then. A fair number of
Broad-wings, and a couple of Peregrines. Without a doubt, many birds were
missed – but over 1100 were still tallied for a half day’s effort.

Non-raptor Observations:
Non-raptors included: Canada Goose, Wood Duck, American Crow, Blue Jay,
American Goldfinch, Northern Flicker, European Starling, Yellow-rumped
Warbler, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Black-capped Chickadee, White-throated
Sparrow, Nashville Warbler, Eastern Phoebe, Carolina Wren, European
Starling, American Pipit, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Gray
Catbird, Purple Finch, Pine Siskin, American Robin, Northern Flicker, Hairy
Woodpecker, Downy Woodpecker, Eastern Towhee, Hermit Thrush, and
Golden-crowned Kinglet.

Predictions:
Strong SW winds are forecast for the day which could bring some more
Peregrines along the cliff edge.
