Tenured Associate or Full Professor

The Department of Sociology at the University of Chicago invites applications
for a position as a tenured associate or full professor in the area of social
demography and quantitative sociology to begin in the academic year 2011-12.
All required and optional application materials must be submitted online, at
http://tinyurl.com/4ggd36m. Applications are required to include 1) a cover
letter of application describing plans for research and grant applications, and
2) a curriculum vitae. Applicants must possess an exceptional publication
record, strong teaching experience, and a proven ability to secure substantial
grants. The successful applicant will have a formal research affiliation with
the National Opinion Research Center in addition to a faculty appointment in
the Department of Sociology. Early application is strongly recommended. Review
of applications will begin on March 1, 2011, and will continue until the
position is filled, or until the application deadline of June 1, 2011. Only
shortlisted candidates will be contacted.  The University of Chicago is an
