About the position:

As the presentation of exhibitions is a primary purpose of the Washington State History Museum, and a major activity of the Washington State Historical Society, this position is essential to advancement of the society's mission and goals.  You will be responsible for the preparation, fabrication, installation, and care, of museum exhibitions at the WSHS, both internal and external, physical and digital, as well as supervision of contracted exhibition personnel. You'll collaborate with the exhibition designer and curator to develop the look and feel of museum exhibitions. The Washington State Historical Society (WSHS) seeks to contract with an individual Project Archivist to complete on-site archival projects at the Washington
State Research Center, located in Tacoma, WA. Work will be done on-site. The current funding of $25,000 allows for a part-time archivist to perform these projects.

The Project Archivist will digitize, process, research, catalog, and make publically available through the WSHS website the Asahel Curtis Collection of photography.

The Consultant must be licensed to do business in the state of Washington and have at least two (2) years of experience as a professional Archivist and a Master of Library Science degree.

The Membership and Database Specialist works closely with donors, members, development staff and agency-wide staff to accomplish its goals. The position requires excellent customer service skills for external and internal audiences and reports to the Director of Philanthropy. This crucial role is responsible for managing the organizational database (Altru), analyzing data and creating departmental reports, recording contributed income and processing acknowledgment of gifts, refines and analyzes the donor database and back-office systems to make informed choices for constituent engagement and stewardship. By supporting accurate recording of constituent data and acknowledgment of gifts to WSHS, this position advances our mission by enhancing our ability to grow contributed income, which in turn supports our ability to provide educational programming for the citizens of Washington.
