Hello, friends!
At the tail of a tumultuous year, here's wishing you all the joys of the
holiday season, and an invitation to a free, all-ages shindig at Foss
Waterway Seaport (705 Dock St.) on Third Thursday, December 21, 5-8pm!
You'll be pleased to know the museum has finally gotten a new heating
system so it's now comfortable even in the dead of winter!! For this
special evening we've rounded up some great entertainment including the
fabulous, award-winning Lincoln High School Drumline, followed by
soul-shakin' live music by the duo of Peter Pendras and Bill Jed - the
Hollowbodies. Come and celebrate under the illuminated jellyfish with a
holiday twinkle and light refreshments. Entertainment starts at 6.
On view in the museum's galleries is an exhibition of contemporary
paintings by artist Shon Frostad, and new work by Tacoma's intrepid Urban
Sketchers. Overhead, from the Seaport ceiling is suspended an incredible
whale "mobile" - a real, fully-articulated whale skeleton. This beautiful,
capacious museum is home to an array of vintage maritime craft and
collectibles, a collection of Jacque Cousteau memorabilia, and a
boatbuilding shop!
Please join us for a night of holiday FUN on Third Thursday, Dec. 21,
5-8pm! 705 Dock St. on Tacoma's working waterfront, about a mile down from
the Museum of Glass.
May joy & good cheer follow you this holiday season!
