Cruising America's Great Loop and other inland routes
View all threadsFirst I want to thank every one for their knowledge and personal boating experience contribution to this list. It's been priceless.
I want to share my findings with installing RL waveRV marineXL antennae and RL wireless repeater router. This is not an endorsement of the product yet the equipment has boosted our Internet connection in our marina by 3 bars.
Prior to equipment install wifi signal at 1 bar and no signal in cabin below. Redsox games or even the news was choppy. Just moving around the boat, low tide or windy days the signal was lost.
With equipment in place multiple devices can connect and our TV signal off our home sling box it's like watching the redsox games on our Tv at home that good. Plus 3 bars are available even in cabin below.
Windows7 laptop, Apple iPad, iPhone, and droid all recognized and connected without issue. That in itself I thought amazing. I was ready to have an issue with at least one device.
All in all a good investment. Hope this will help other looper members.
Thank you.

We too find the WiFi Repeater is very useful in marina's, to gain reliable
access to either their 'free' service, or even the pay-for services. w/o
the repeaters we often cannot get a reliable lock, and with it can easily.
I assembled a repeater using components - based on the ubiquitous Bullet:

Many venders assemble systems using the Bullet. Aside from Rogue Wave
(waveRV), another one I have read a lot of good things about is:

But it seems the Rogue Wave folks have simplified the firmware load to make
usage much simpler. Looks like a slick system!
