Peter and Mary Zarich met at an English Country Ball in Portland in 1998, and have been calling and teaching English Country Dance for over ten years in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. They are members of Nonesuch, an ECD performance troupe, and also enjoy Scottish Country Dancing and contra-dancing in Seattle.
English Country Dancing flourished from 1650 to 1850 as an important social activity and a welcome alternative to the formality of court dancing. Easily accessible to beginners -- they are danced mainly with walking steps and prompted by a caller -- the repertory ranges from lively jigs and reels to elegant, flowing waltz tunes.

Orchestra of the Moon is a Portland-based early music band which began as the house orchestra for Rag on a Stick Theatre. They aim to get people playing medieval music together as well as to bring the joy of early music to a diverse audience.
