Tacoma Urban Garden Workshops Beginning Soon at Gallucci Learning Garden

Local gardening expert and educator, John Valentine, is teaching two free
workshop series this Spring at Gallucci Learning Garden, one for beginners
and one for intermediate and advanced gardeners:

For beginning gardeners (and for those wanting a refresher on the
fundamentals) the Gallucci Learning Garden is teaching a series called
Fundamentals
Of Organic Gardening

on March 26th and runs four weeks (four Weds evening
classroom lectures and four Saturday hands-on workshops in the garden). Get
all the fundamentals in time for gardening this season! This workshop

is for intermediate and advanced gardeners - folks who have
grasped the basics but want to reach the next level of skill and
understanding to improve yields and overcome garden problems. These
Wednesday evening workshops begin May 14th, 2014 and run for six weeks. For

About the Gallucci Learning Garden

The Gallucci Learning Garden is an all volunteer, nonprofit urban
demonstration and education garden in the heart of Tacoma at South 14th and
G St. They teach free workshops most of the year at the garden, provide
educational and volunteer experiences for children and adults, and host
community events in the summer. They are entering their third gardening
season this year. For gardeners who want a hands-on, "don't just tell me,
show me" kind of garden learning experience, Gallucci Learning Garden is
for you. They are part of the Tacoma Urban Land Trust (formerly called the
Guadalupe Land Trust), a 501(c)(3) non-profit land trust whose mission is
to protect urban open space in Tacoma, WA for the purpose of providing
garden space, educational opportunities, and building better communities.
