Official Counter:        Nicole Shangi

Observers:        Juliette Herdman, Michael Arthurs, Noel Herdman,
Peter Veighey

Visitors:
Thank you to our amazing observers, Noel, Juliette, Michael and Peter. I am
truly so grateful for you all!

Weather:
It was very windy and chilly for the last day on the tower today. Winds
were from the west however may have been too strong for many birds.
Unfortunately there was very little flying today but the company made it
worth while.

Raptor Observations:
Only 4 birds were seen today, a turkey vulture, Cooper’s hawk, red tailed
hawk, and a lovely treat for the last day, the final golden eagle of the
season.

Non-raptor Observations:
Like the hawks, very few non raptor species were out and about today. There
were about 200 red breasted mergansers flying along the lake, with some
hardy redheads. The bald eagles stirred up hundreds of mallards with a few
black duck and northern shoveler. Great blue heron are on the marsh in high
numbers again.

everyone, please have a great winter, I hope to see you in the spring!
