Tacoma Gallery is upstairs on the second floor of the old bank building
at 1120 S 11th Street. Look for the signs on the sidewalk, the entrance is
through the alley door. There is plenty of free parking.

Tacoma Gallery is having our first THIRD THURSDAY Art Walk event. There
will be THREE aspects to this celebration:

Exhibition: Grit City. 6-9 PM April 19. Exhibit runs until Third
Thursday in May and by appointment Monday-Saturday.

Artists from Tacoma, Seattle, Olympia and Portland were asked to submit
work that they feel responds to the inspiring cityscape of Tacoma. Work
ranges from richly colored and light-filled landscapes, detailed prints and
exquisite drawings as well as abstract and non-representational work.
Artists include, Erik Sandgren, Kathryn Cotnoir, Dee Vadnais, Sarah
Dillon-Gilmartin, Jane Sobottka, Jason Sobottka, Banjo Skatoots and Nathan
Barnes.

ART and MERCH SALE: 6-9 April 19 ONLY!

Inside the studio classroom, there will be an affordable (~$20) art sale
from most of the Grit City artists. Visiting artisans from the community
will be selling their handmade products:

  • Paintings and hand-pulled prints starting at $10 for small woodcuts
    and etchings
  • Beautiful jewelry by Miki Drake SVNLIGHTS (@Svnlights
    https://www.facebook.com/svnlights/?fref=mentions on Facebook and
    Instagram)
  • Live-edge display and cheese boards from* ML Woodworking*
  • Pengy and Crow Merch
  • Other guest merchants will be in attendance!
  • Upcoming Workshops Announced:*

New one and two-day, progressive workshops in drawing, painting,
journaling, printmaking and comic/video game character design will be
posted. Special requests for classes and workshops will also be solicited.
Pick up details about the workshops and talk to the instructor, Jason
Sobottka. Upcoming workshops include:

  • Design Your Character (video game, comic or animation): Ages 14-Adult
  • Refine Your Character: Ages 14-Adult
  • Botanical Journaling at Point Defiance: Ages 14-Adult
