PUYALLUP RIVER WATERSHED COUNCIL
FIELD TRIP TO
THE CARBON RIVER ENTRANCE
TO MT. RAINIER NATIONAL PARK
Wednesday August 26, 2009

10:30 to 4:30 pm

10:30              Meet at the Sumner Library 1116 Fryar Ave. 235
863-0441 to see slide show concerning the hydrology and sediment
transport of rivers presented by Paul Kennard and Susan Dolan,
scientists from the Park Service.

11:30              Leave for Mt. Rainier Park at the Carbon River
entrance (stop planned for coffee and snacks on the way, restrooms too)

1:30                Arrive at the Park entrance on the Carbon River.
Short and long walks to see flood impacts from previous floods.
Discussion on river hydrology and the Park's future by Bryan Bowden,
Park Planner/Ranger.

3:30                Leave for the City of Sumner

4:30                Arrive at the City of Sumner.  End of field trip.
All are invited to the PRWC monthly forum. Discussion will cover rivers
management in both Pierce and King Counties.

5:00                Puyallup River Watershed Council Forum begins
