Friends, Mississippi just enacted a bill authorizing medical marijuana. This is brand new here and my client is trying to proactively address many issues, one of which is HR policies for those who are prescribed medical marijuana. If anyone has a set of personnel policies regarding the use of medical marijuana by employees, or if anyone knows of any pitfalls with employer/employee relations and medical marijuana, or just have any thoughts to share, I sure would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance and enjoy the weekend.

FYI, our Maryland county does not have a policy for medical use of
cannabis. While MM is legal in Maryland an employer is not required to
change their policies to permit its use by employees. Two major issues my
client has are the lack of guidance from doctors on dose, frequency, etc.
and the testing issues (no way to determine the difference between a person
actively intoxicated on the job or one responsibly using MM off-duty.)
That said, this position is being challenged in the courts. Interesting
times!
