Would you like to share your passion for arts with others? Would you like to use your knowledge and skills to make a huge impact on your community? As the Arts Program Coordinator, you will provide direct leadership, instruction and motivation for program participants in Art programs. The Arts Program Coordinator is a team player who demonstrates strong skills in class and lesson development; classroom management; organization; interpersonal, verbal and written communication; and collaborative relationships. The Arts Program Coordinator responsibilities include lesson planning, class proposals, material lists, attendance-keeping, day-to-day teaching and classroom management, and class schedules.
Candidates must have related experience and the ability to teach dance classes, while observing and helping children to improve their technique in a fun and safe environment. Must work well with individuals of all ages, be able to multitask, and communicate effectively with parents and children.
Qualifications:
Ø 10+ years of formal performing or visual arts training or comparable experience (preferred).
Ø 5+ years of experience as a performing or visual arts teacher and/or teaching assistant (preferred).
Ø Experience teaching beginning, intermediate and advanced level performing or visual arts classes. Multiple disciplines preferred.
Ø Positive attitude and previous experience with varying ages and diverse populations.
Ø Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment set-up (preferred).
Ø Professional theatrical experience required.
Ø Appreciation and passion for visual, culinary and performing arts.
Ø CPR, First Aid, AED certifications (preferred).
Ø Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week
