Folks,

After searching for a trawler for the last months and not finding what I
want, I came across a 44 Atlantic with sundeck and a nice arrangement. The
boat is 30,000 pounds with 14' beam and twin 3208 320 HP Cats, 620 g. fuel,
240 g. water. We are looking to retire aboard and cruise for a year or more
and then decide if liveaboard life really is for us or if we are seasonal
cruisers.

The questions I would like some help with are:

1, Can I run these engines at 1500 RPM for hull speed without damaging them?
The engines have about 600 hours on them. I'm estimating 2-2.5 gph each at
that speed. Reasonable?
2, How will this hull track at 8 kts?
3, Would it be stable at 8 kts, or is it going to roll excessively in beam
and following seas?
4, Will it track well with just one engine running at a time?
5, Does it have much of a keel? Deep enough for protection in grounding?
6, A long shot, but can anyone compare her seakeeping ability to my current
boat - a Hershine 41, AKA Albin 40 sundeck?
7, Would appreciate any comments on general quality, resale etc.
Many thanks in advance for any information/comments.

Regards,
Bob Kassal
