10/29  Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center  9:30am-1PM . overcast,
mid-tide receding, 54F.
Very busy at the center today with class visits and regular visitors. Class
visits were on the inside, on the marsh and sanctuary grounds.
On the marsh:  12 American Black ducks, 1 Great Egret, 2 mallards, 2 Mute
swans, 27 Brant, 8 Canada Geese and several gulls foraging.
On the grounds & feeders:  4 Hermit Thrushes (2 were caught inside fencing
surrounding recently planted trees)- but I got them out, 1 Golden Crowned
kinglet foraging right above my head in a cedar tree, 6 House finches, 5
Robins, 3 Blue Jays, 12 Yellow rumped warblers at the fountain, 2 Tufted
titmice,  2 Catbirds, 16 Mourning doves- (at feeders), 1 Cedar waxwing, and
a mixed sparrow flock along paved road (1 Field sparrow, 1 Chipping
sparrow, 3 Song, 8 White throated) and about 10 House sparrows at feeders.
