** Here is our upcoming calendar of events; just click on the link to get it in PDF format:
What else has been going on with PCRS?? Well, here is a calendar of all the events that are open to full involvement by all individuals. If you are interested or find an event interesting, PLEASE CONTACT US AT (253)779-8890 or pugetcreek@yahoo.com (mailto:pugetcreek@yahoo.com) for more information.
How would you like to get trained in order to provide a teaching experience to 4th and 5th graders? Well, we have a Watershed Adventures Program here at PCRS that provides an outdoor education experience for 4th and 5th grade classes. We will get them to Puget Creek for a 5 hour adventure (includes travel time from and back to school). The idea is to train our docents in 4 Watershed themes and then these docents will work with the students. We have 4 stations: Trees and their importance and aspects; Water Quality; Stream Habitat characteristics and finally Native vs. non-native invasive plants and the similarities and identifying characteristics. We will train you in presenting and instructing in all these 4 areas and when a class is scheduled (starting this spring) we will get the docents to take a group of 7-8 students and instruct for 45 minutes in each area for a total of about 3 hours. So if you like learning about our local environment, working with youth and enjoy the
outdoors please let us know. THE first training day is in the office, which will orientate you about the manual (you will need to schedule to come in to do this. Then (2^nd training opportunity is January 12^th, 13^th, 19^th, 20^th, 26^th and 27^th and you will need to attend as many as possible and then again in February and March) from 2-roughly 5:00 where we will go to Puget Creek and go over the field aspects. If these days don’t work for you let us know and we can POSSIBLY train you on other days.
The days of a difficult donation process are over!
You can now donate to PCRS using your credit card on the front page of our website www.pugetcreek.org (http://pugetcreek.us6.list-manage.com/track/click?u=0e28c4d0a6e0a153f20bdcb4b&id=44698d516e&e=1266aa5659) .
Don’t worry all payments are secure and processed by WePay.
It’s the time of the year when every non-profit is in dire need of pecuniary support. As a non-profit it is essential that we receive donations to keep our office running and open for the community.
Shop at Bartell’s Drugs?? Great!
Sign up for their non-profit donation program and Bartell’s will make a donation after every purchase to the non-profit organization of your choice.
Hey! Do you work at Bank of America?! Bank of America promises to match its employee’s contributions to non-profits. So if you work at Bank of America and would like to donate to us please consider doing so.
