Volunteers Needed for Spring Enviro/Sustainability Outreach
The Healthy Homes, Healthy Neighborhood Project with the City of Tacoma’s
Office of Sustainability is looking for volunteers to help canvass on
Fridays and Saturdays in the spring, as well as help with upcoming events
such as our neighborhood spring cleaning on April 20th and our Natural
Yardcare workshop on May 4th. No experience necessary, hours flexible.
(2-4 hours minimum, please!)
*Two volunteers needed on Fridays and/or Saturdays in the Spring for
Canvassing: *
These volunteers will be paired up with an Americorps member or a Graduate
Student Intern and go door-to-door speaking to residents about
environmental sustainability in the Wapato Lake Neighborhood. We will be
following up with residents and talking to them about how they can save
money on utility bills, become more active in the community and inform them
of upcoming events. Volunteers will have a great opportunity to learn about
programs offered by the City to help residents save money and live more
sustainably.
April-June
All Fridays: 12-7pm
All Saturdays: 11-5pm (Execpt workshop/event days)
5 or more volunteers needed for upcoming Event 1:
4.20.13 – Neighborhood Spring Cleaning/ Recycle Event
Volunteers will be directing traffic, handing out fliers and CFL
lightbulbs, setting up and taking down, etc…
*2-3 Volunteers needed for upcoming Event 2: *
5.4.13 – Natural Yard Care Workshop
Volunteers will be helping setup/take down, misc…
