Her multi-layered linoleum block prints focus on floral and nature themes inspired by her northwest home. She is best known for her vibrant color palette and enjoys studying and experimenting with the language of color. Most recently she has started to incorporate figures, which stem from a desire to tell a more complex story with her work. She is actively involved with the art community in Tacoma by participating as a vendor in local shows, a volunteer for events, and a hostess for studio tours. She occasionally enjoys taking on the same challenge with city architecture. Her techniques involve pouring, splattering, and conventional brush work to achieve an inviting and aesthetic picture. All of her work is original, painted from imagination, on site, or from reference photos taken by her, her friends, or family. However, I have also been going blind since childhood due to a condition called Keratoconus. 20 years ago, my eye doctors had exhausted all the known solutions and my eyesight had become so poor that I was on the verge of giving up my lifelong passion, drawing and painting. Luckily, I found a cutting edge eye doctor, Dr. Rotkis, in Seattle that restored my sight through cornea transplant – I am so thankful for this doctor and for the organ donors! I use this new lease on my eyesight every day to improve my craft as an artist."
