Forwarded on behalf of Emily Strong: VeloFemmes Conversation Series: Bike Tour Pecha Kucha Tacoma, Wash. - Join VeloFemmes, a local group of Tacoma women having fun and riding bikes together, on Thursday, Aug. 1 to see pictures and hear stories from several women's amazing travels by bicycle. The event will be held at 5:30 p.m. at 2nd Cycle, Tacoma's Community Cycle Center (1314 MLK Way). VeloFemmes is a women-focused group, but all are welcome. There are many approaches to bike touring - traveling by bicycle - but whether it's for a night or a month, whether you carry a tent or sleep in hotels, and whether you ride on roads or backcountry trails, everyone who has traveled this way certainly has good stories to tell! If you're a seasoned bike tourist, this is a great opportunity to meet fellow travelers, and if you're new to the concept it's a great way to see what it's all about, learn more and ask questions. All are welcome! Each presenter will share the best moment of her trip, the worst moment of her trip, and a piece of advice to pass on.
