The truck has been moved and you can exit through the gate.

Have a great day.

Can anyone shed some light on the dynamics regarding the individual with
the truck?

I drove back there a couple of days prior to the gate becoming operational
just to look at things. A male emerged from the house to the West of the
gate rather quickly, and he made some interesting gestures seeming to
indicate he was photographing or filming me.

Odd behavior so I chose not to engage.

Is he a bit of a wild card? Opposed to the gate? Adversarial?

As somebody wise once said, trust but verify.

Ray, the short version is that ,yes, he is definitely not a fan.

I am reminded that we are human beings and not perfect beings.  He is very animated as he expresses his protest for the opening of the back gate.

We are working to minimize the gestures of this individual.

This is change for them and they believe disruptive to their very quiet lifestyle.  With some, it takes more time and effort.

Progress drives change.  IH10 definitely has increased the commute for many of us.  We will continue to support the opening of the gate as it is the right thing to do for all of us.

Be respectful as you exit the gate.  Smile and don’t engage in discussion.

Have a great day.

I drove up to the gate with my husband yesterday evening as well. The man that lives on the right was walking around my vehicle, so I rolled down my window just to let him know I was just checking out where the gate was located. He expressed how upset he was and how invasive that gate felt to him. He said the fact that it has cameras pointing his direction and that he has animals walking around worries him. I heard him out and killed with kindness! He felt like he was being watched.

Thank you Brooke for sharing this.  The cameras are there for security.  They are directed at the gate and county road to capture vehicles and license plates as people approach the gate and then exit.

If someone comes in the front and decides to exit the back, we can capture that.  This also provides a level of security for the two homeowners who have back yards on each side of the gate.

Thank you for being an example of how to approach and help define our neighborhood.
