Forget the 6-8 weeks. With a new boat and near this time of year, it would
take you a lot longer than that.
New to you.

Capt. Mike Maurice
Near Portland Oregon.

How much time would it take you? You are into yacht delivery I think??
We are open to consider bringing her east via sea; or at least as a
backup plan in case the truckers come back and say they can't do it for
some reason.

Bob,
Forget doing it by sea. Unless you have several months and $30k to spend.

Anyone who would take the job except during the winter is out of their mind
and there is no way to do it for $20k.

Obviously it is not impossible to take it around by sea, but no one who is
really qualified, can take it around economically.

Capt. Mike Maurice
Near Portland Oregon.

Thanks Mike; good to know! Problem is she is 15 foot 9 inch to the ph
roof. A 31 inch stantion (not a mast) holds the radome and some other
electronics like gps and cell-phone ants.

The yard can cut down the stantion within 7 inches of the roof which
will facilitate putting it back on after transport. So I am looking at
15'9" plus either 7" with the thing chopped off, or 15"9" plus 31 inches
with only the electronics removed, but the stantion left in place.

This gets complicated for trucking, because the more height she has on a
4" road-clearance trailer, the more difficult and complex is the
trip-plan. There are height restrictions, width restrictions (15 foot+
beam), fees, by-pass route, and various local "escort requirements". Too
high, and the trip becomes very long/expensive; not to mention the
insurance riders for the trip.

I have received Estimates of from 20 to 30 thousand dollars and times
ranging from 2 to 3 weeks, to Haul from Anacortes Washington to a South
New Jersey yard.

So, the logical "backup plan" is to have the Internet done in Anacortes
(where she is layed-up now) and hire a pilot, with me, as crew, to take
her back east (through the cannal, and up to the keys where I would take
her the rest of the way myself) via sea. This would be an absolutely
last-ditch method if all else fails.

Best Regards
Bob
