To Gary Hagstrom:

The other Gary and I were discussing our Lehmann engines with fuel tanks 30 and 40 years of age. The stuff that I use absorbs the water and the biobor takes care of the enzymes(bacteria/H2S)or amphorcites.. The fuel tanks are made of black iron and are prone to rust over time. The product that I use has definitely prolonged our tanks.Since Lehmanns are old diesels (+ 50 yrs) efficiency is not a factor because they are not compared to the newer diesels. You do get a bit of blue smoke at start up. However their thrust is good and perfect for trawler application. The fuel burn on my 44 MT is 2.9 gph at 1650 rpm, 7 knots. The boat is 40 years old last August.Regards
