Annual Picnic This Sunday: Our annual picnic is coming up this Sunday,
August 25th, from 4-8 pm on the Park Road esplanades. This year, we are
having barbeque catered from Maximus/Minimus, and for kids with more
traditional tastes, we will also have pizza. We’ll have an ice cream truck,
and we are planning for Bellevue Police and Bellevue Fire Department folks
to be here as well. Entertainment will feature the popular bouncy houses,
a magician, and more. We’re looking forward to seeing you there! We must
ask that attendance is limited to owners and residents of homes in
Vuecrest. Thank you to our Social chairs Melissa Hambleton and Roslyn
Ellison for setting this all up.
*Board Meeting: *A big THANK YOU to Greg Gransberry and Kathy Goldstein
for hosting the August Board Meeting. We encourage residents to join us at
the next meeting scheduled for Thursday, September 5, to be held at the
home of Michael and Judith White, 9850 Belfair Road.
*Bellevue Livability Study: *This spring, the Bellevue City Council created
the Downtown Livability Advisory Committee to study code revisions to
direct downtown development for the next 30 years. As a neighborhood
adjacent to downtown, Vuecrest is impacted by many of the goals being set
by this committee, such as noise levels, safety and security, transitions
from our neighborhood to the downtown, potential changes in building
heights adjacent to Vuecrest, view corridors, traffic pressures on our
perimeter, and pedestrian and vehicular safety on both NE 8th and 100th
exits from Vuecrest. Additional topics include parking space and open space
in downtown, and the potential for changes in school attendance.
The Vuecrest board is seeking residents interested in attending and
participating in the monthly meetings of the advisory committee on behalf
of our neighborhood. If you are interested please contact
directors@vuecrest.net. The meetings take place monthly on Wednesday
evenings in Bellevue City Hall.
More information can be found at www.bellevuewa.gov/downtown-livability.htm
*August is Prune Your Hedges and Trees Month! *Let’s all celebrate this
fictitious holiday by trimming our trees and hedges so as not exceed 6 feet
[4 feet street side] or block a protected view! It not only helps the
Vuecrest Community maintain the reputation it so richly deserves as a
lovingly-tended, beautiful, and desirable location, but your neighbors
might just give you a hug of gratitude.
Peaceful Enjoyment Of Property: Please to be mindful of noise levels and
respect your neighbors as you enjoy the final weeks of summer
outdoors.
Safety Committee Report: Hello Dolly! The radar dolly is a helpful
reminder to all to keep the speed down on our streets. If you think it
would be beneficial to be housed on your street for a time, sign-up is
available through Doug Jones at daj540@icloud.com
*Tenant Contact Information: *A reminder that Vuecrest requires all owners
of rental property to comply with our Rental Property Policy, which
specifies that Vuecrest must be furnished complete and current contact
information for all tenants and, if applicable, management companies.
Homeowners can update their tenant information online via vucecrest.net. We
thank you for your support of this policy.
*Neighborhood Yard Sale? *We are seeking to gauge the level of interest in
a Vuecrest Yard Sale. Essentially an event open to the public when families
could collectively purge those unwanted items that someone else might
value. Please email directors@vuecrest.net if you have an interest in
participating in the sale, OR, an interest in coordinating the event.
