8/10, western Long Island Sound- Tom Murray and I were allowed to join a research vessel cruise, whereby we were recording bird species and numbers. Highlights: a group of 4 Parasitic Jaegers chasing Common Terns mid-Sound off Stamford, 3 WILSON’s Storm Petrels working a natural slick off Norwalk, and a sitting flock of 660 Laughing Gulls (mostly juveniles) near Bayville, Long Island, NY, and several pods totalling 30-40 (Bottlenose?) Dolphins off Stratford.
