Join us Saturday, September 15th, for a day of community, art, and gardening. Artist Alexander Schelhammer will be presenting his community art project - Walk a Mile In My Shoes - and you are invited to come be a part of the process.

Schelhammer will install pallet benches in the community garden that all the residents of the Tacoma Mall Neighborhood can help create and use. During the Harvest Festival, community members are invited to help paint the new benches with bright colors and welcoming words. The aim of the project is to gather residents from the area to come together, play, do art, and start a conversation.

This event is in conjunction with the City of Tacoma's Public Art: Public Action artist training program activating the Tacoma Mall area this summer, and is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts.
