Dear Colleagues,
I hope this email finds you well. The International Municipal Lawyers Association (IMLA) is seeking experienced legal professionals to present at our upcoming Employment Law Virtual Program on May 29th and 30th, 2025.
We welcome proposals on any employment law topic relevant to municipal law attorneys and those practicing in the public sector, with a particular focus on the following key areas:

Employment Law Updates and Trends – Key legislative, regulatory, and case law developments.

  • Litigation and Risk Management for Municipal Employers – Best practices for minimizing liability and handling employment disputes.
  • Implicit Bias and Workplace Equity – Addressing bias, fostering inclusivity, and ensuring legal compliance.
  • Ethics and Post-Employment Restrictions – Conflicts of interest, revolving door policies, and legal limitations.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in Public Sector Employment – Legal frameworks and practical implementation strategies.

Telecommuting and Hybrid Work Policies – Legal considerations, best practices, and emerging challenges.

  • Substance Abuse and Mental Health in the Workplace – Navigating legal obligations, accommodations, and employer policies.

If you or a colleague are interested in speaking, please reply with a brief proposal including:

  • Your name, title, and affiliation.
  • The topic you’d like to present.
  • A short summary of the key points you plan to cover.
  • Your availability on May 29th or 30th.
