GatherINK: Wave Your Flag!
Celebrate Cascadia and print your own flag to take home. Guest artist Yulan Suk has illustrated her own version of a Douglas Fir, which symbolizes the resilience of our unique bioregion.
“The Cascadia flag conveys something more tangible than an abstract concept of demarcation of space. It is not a flag of blood nor of the glory of a nation, but a love of the bioregion; our ecological family, natural boundaries & the place in which we live & love.”
– Alexander Baretich, designer of the “Doug” or Cascadia Flag
We will have several hands-on letterpress printing projects for participants to create. Activities are a great introduction to the tools and history of printing, and an opportunity to see prints created by Write253 youth.

GatherINK is an ongoing series of community book arts and printing projects intended for family participation. We support a wide definition of family, but ask that participants under 12 are accompanied by an adult. All participants will be required to sign waivers.
GatherINK is supported by a grant from the Tacoma Arts Commission.
