GatherINK: Wave Your Flag! Celebrate Cascadia and print your own flag to take home. Guest artist Yulan Suk has illustrated her own version of a Douglas Fir, which symbolizes the resilience of our unique bioregion. “The Cascadia flag conveys something more tangible than an abstract concept of demarcation of space. It is not a flag of blood nor of the glory of a nation, but a love of the bioregion; our ecological family, natural boundaries & the place in which we live & love.” – Alexander Baretich, designer of the “Doug” or Cascadia Flag We will have several hands-on letterpress printing projects for participants to create. Activities are a great introduction to the tools and history of printing, and an opportunity to see prints created by Write253 youth. We support a wide definition of family, but ask that participants under 12 are accompanied by an adult. All participants will be required to sign waivers.
