Old Diesel Fuel

I found about 100 gallons of diesel in a storage tank that has not been
disturbed for about ten years.  I took a look at the fuel in a glass jar
and it appears clear and free of water.  I always added a good diesel
treatment when buying fuel.

Is there any reason not to use it?

The water would be in the bottom of the tank if there is any water.  Diesel
does not go bad for well over ten years.

I would use it say 50-50 with new diesel, but that should not even be
necessary.

The bad stuff is probably settled on the bottom. If you mix it with other
good fuel at a high enough ratio you will more ensure it will not be the
cause of any problems. Mix 20-30 gallons in a 200 gall tank for example.

I don't think it is worth the expense it might cause.

Thanks to everyone for advising about the old fuel.  I will proceed,
but with due caution.
