We are excited to launch the BLM mural TODAY Wednesday, July 13, with an all-day kick-off event, 8am-7pm, at Tollefson Plaza in downtown Tacoma (S. 17th & Pacific). If you are interested in volunteering or learning more, please stop by for a quick volunteer orientation. There will be a volunteer orientation and Q&A session every hour, on the hour, from 8 am-6 pm. Drop in to learn more, sign up to volunteer for future volunteer shifts, and meet members of the project team. There will even be a chance to help with the first layer of painting for a limited number of drop-in volunteers. We are currently looking for volunteers July 16-27: · Photographer: Take photos of the work in action. It is vital that we have consistent documentation of the project. We can’t provide a camera, but phone photos are great. · Painting Helper: Assist the project artists in helping mix paint, clean brushes, and set up/ clean up on painting days. · Information Table: Pass out flyers and posters, give away items, and answer general questions about the project.
