More than 900 5th grade students from 14 elementary schools in Pierce County will participate in this year’s Water Festival. We need your help to make the day a success! Please see the attached brochure and volunteer/ presenter forms.
The Water Festival promises to be a fun day of interactive, hands-on learning. Activity topics include water conservation, wetlands, stormwater pollution, recreation, and wildlife.
We are looking for volunteers to engage students as they learn about caring for our water resources! The role of the volunteer can be either a dedicated guide for a specific class, an assistant to a Presenter during class sessions, a table host in the Expo Hall at an interactive exhibit. Also, we can always use some extra muscle with set-up in the afternoon before Festival day.
Here are the specifics:
Date: Thursday, April 24th, 2014
Time commitment: 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
Location: Tacoma Professional Development Center
6501 North 23rd St, Tacoma, WA
Volunteers receive breakfast, lunch, and a “Water 4 Life” T-shirt.
