Good evening;
My name is Brian Trenz and I am running for the HOA board. I know many of you don’t know me, but I have spoken to a number of residents about our community and their concerns.
I understand that our current board members have done and are doing the best job they can. However, I see a lot of families moving in the neighborhood and a lot of kids. The community is changing; perhaps, the board must change to meet this evolution.
For example, I have been to our park many times. If our Board Members had young children, they would have seen the crumbling park without the need for complaint from the community.
Also, I am an avid runner. I notice that the lack of street signs make our streets feel unsafe at night. I also noticed that our speed bumps are broken and for some reason, we have speed bumps 6 feet before 2 stop signs. I don’t think I have ever seen that before.
Despite those anomalies, our Board proposes to re-surface the streets. I also noticed that our board spends a ton of money on administration costs. And we have still not dealt with the lawsuit pending against our community.
As a lawyer, I know how to fight lawsuits like the frivolous one filed against us. I also know that we can legally manage our own community. Sometimes, change is needed to placate changing times.
As a Dad, I see our park as a beautiful place full of potential. A basketball court. A dog park. A functioning playground. I can’t see anything wrong with our streets. I can see more pressing concerns.
I would ask that you Vote for me because I want to help fix those things that we all see but maybe ignore. Many of you received a campaign flyer from me on your door. Many of you may have known the other Board Members for longer, and as a result may doubt my ability to make a difference. But I think the strongest indicator of my ability is the wave of emails and informational letters you received from the current board just a couple of days after my campaign flyer went out.
Thank You and Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Brian Trenz and Family
Mr. Trenz,
You may be well intentioned, but I feel the current board has balanced the needs of the entire community, not just the families with small children.
I enjoy not having streetlights. Most neighbors keep their lights on and can make it difficult to sleep at night. If a homeowner wants a light in the front of their house, they would be required to pay for the installation (around 2 to 3k), plus electrician install up to 1k, and pay the utility bill. I don’t see that the association should cover this cost and legally doesn’t have to. Again, it would be put back on the homeowner.
As for the park, if the parents wish, they could funnel some of there own money or time to addressing issues. Honestly, I see the park is rarely used, as most neighbors have their own oasis in their backyard.
Our community also has the option of joining the Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club across the highway on a social rate, that would include all the amenities you are looking for.
We moved from a subdivision in Friendswood outside of Houston, where the wish list grew longer and more expensive every year. I enjoy paying lower fees and the Board balances all needs of the community.
Sincerely,
Patti Schroeder
