I am seeking advice and counsel on a good and reliable Iridium service provider with competitive pricing for prepaid service. Until last summer I used Stratos, with a monthly service charge of about $35.00 and $1.50/minute air time but cancelled that when I sold my Grand Banks. I see several websites now offering prepaid service, including www.satphonestore.com. One which looks promising is 3000 minutes good for two years for $2970 or $.99/minute. However, they tell me the service provider is France Telcom which may present some language issues. Is anyone using a good prepaid Iridium service that offers competitive pricing and good customer service with a US or Canadian provider? Stratos customer service was very good, but a call to them today reveals their prepaid price for 3000 minutes is $3600, and the time is good for only one year--not very competitive.
