Surfrider and Harbor Wild Watch have invited UW Professor Deborah Kelley
and undergraduate Jesse Turner to share their team's experience of design,
construction and installation of an seafloor observatory off our coast.
The lab deploys devices that monitor a variety of ocean-shelf activities,
to provide us with better understanding of underwater volcanoes, earth
quakes, and the bizarre organisms that call these extreme environments
home. This free event will be held at 6:30 PM on Thursday, March 12th, at
King's Books, 218 Saint Helens Avenue in the Stadium District.
