Dear Members of the Nyack Boat Club Racing and Cruising Fleet Divisions,
I have been lobbying for a tap and keg of beer on our patio at the
Clubhouse used at the Cruising Fleets discretion for events like Sunday
and Wednesday Racing, Friday night dinners and whenever a large party of
our fleet is together on the patio or at our clubs facility for ALL CLUB
MEMBERS TO ENJOY. I have tried going through proper channels and protocols
starting with our lower chain of command and working my way up to the
commodore. I have had no helpful input from any officer at the Nyack Boat
Club in our efforts to reaching our goal.
Tonight I had a very interesting conversation with Gene Cohen, OUR REAR
COMODORE OF FACILITIES, who enlightened me on several counts.
1, My head is very far up Lee's Ass
2, I owe someone an apology for hosting the Americas Cup Event at the Bear
Mountain Inn ( He wouldn't say who)
3, I forced Joey G and Karen Horton out of being Fleet Captain and
Treasurer of the Cruising Fleet.
4, Until I make amends, I won't be able to get anything done on my Fleets
behalf. (when I asked how I could make amends, he refused to comment)
Friends,
I have done everything I can think of to promote the Nyack Boat Club as far
as Adult Sailing Host, Open House Sailing Host, Women's Saturday Sailing
Coach etc...
Tonight's conversation with our Rear Commodore of Facilities has
me baffled.
It appears that I have come to a crossroad that I just, can not cross.
This animosity has caused nothing but bad moral at our club and it appears
that it won't end. When our clubs officers are setting a poor example of
leadership and expressing animosity to it's membership,( the people they
are here to serve) how can we expect to make our club a place of enjoyment.
Isn't that why we all joined the Nyack Boat Club? Enjoyment?
If as Fleet Captain of Racing I have let you down, I apologize
Sincerely,
John Michael Cruising Fleet Captain Racing
John,
You are a wonderful, caring, generous club member. I am thrilled to have you and Debbie as club members. Whatever this is about, I recommend to all, let's put this behind us now and move forward as the family we are. Nuff said.

John,
I have admiration for you as both a relentless opponent of the race course
and an enthusiastic supporter of the club that gives far more than your
share.
I agree with Rick that 'Nuff said' - by email, that is.
Instead I ask those few that disagree - why not speak directly with John?
