Hi Georgs, I live on Deer Isle which is in Penobscot Bay in Maine. In fact,
just pulled the float and ramp out for the winter. Started boating at 7 and
haven't stopped, mostly Mako center consoles and a Boston Whaler. Current
boat is a Skipjack 26 flybridge cruiser. With twin 225 HP Yamaha outboards.
It's trailerable and we've gone on several multi-week trips in it.
Here in Maine lobstah pots are thick enough to walk on and any thing like a
stabilizer fin will pick up a pot unless you are real careful. (Paravanes
would get people shooting at you). I'm a fan of twin engines and there are
few monohulls with dual skegs to protect twin props. A power cat doesn't
need stabilizer fins has good protection for twin props lots of room and
doesn't roll which is a requirement of the Admiral (wife) We're just
starting to look and research the choices but the pluses for a cat far
outweigh the minuses from what we've seen so far.

Welcome aboard, Dave.

You are not alone in being drawn to power catamarans.
