Effective at 11 a.m. today, the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency will elevate the air quality burn bans in Pierce and Snohomish counties to Stage Two. Air quality reached levels "unhealthy for sensitive groups" last night in both counties. They don't anticipate any significant change in the forecast for the next 24-hours. Although a very weak system is expected tomorrow evening that may bring some mixing and relief, the stagnation is expected to continue after that and into the weekend.
