Bob Austin brought up a very good point I'd like to re-emphasize. The
Nordhavn 43 has an almost identical cabin arrangement as my N50. The
owners stateroom amidships is the best place on the boat underway in
heavy weather. Crew members bunking in the forward stateroom will
sometimes nap in the reclining chairs in the saloon. At anchor, chain
noise and wave slap can invade the forward stateroom even with the
insulation of the forward head. The midship cabin is free of such
intrusion. Granted, Nordhavn gives up the ability to have a nifty
combination office/guest stateroom, but the midship owners stateroom is
worth it.
