I now have aprs-is running on my smartphone, so I’m going to use that for
self-spotting. I may also post to
W0UC's chat http://www.w0uc.com/spots.html, but APRS will be my main
spotting tool, since some APRS display software, such as openaprs.net,
allows specific stations to be tracked. I will also put a message in the
APRS spot with current frequency, beam heading, etc. I’m not going to use
ON4KST, since my spot will probably scroll off screen within seconds of
being posted.
I will be on with my usual 6M thru 10 GHz setup this weekend. I plan to
spend Saturday in SE Wisconsin, grids EN53/63. Exact locations are still
TBD. Sunday morning, I’ll be in EN62cc, then move to EN51xr in the
afternoon, and maybe EN52xc at night. Working frequency will be around
144.180 on 2M, and .080 on 222 & 432. I’ll also be doing some calling on
144.180, but will move closer to 144.200 if there’s no action on .180.
