All,
After some discussions, we have decided to name professional coach Peter Borlase as the new head coach of the Denver Harlequins.
Peter hails from New Zealand  has played prop for the Crusaders and Canterbury as well at Munster and Hawke's Bay. And most recently completed a year of coaching the professional Gernika rugby club in Spain.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Borlase

Mark Price has for the last 2 years been on the lookout for a replacement head coach. Through his connections with Belmont Shore and their current coach,Ray Egan, Peter Borlase came highly recommended.
Mark intends to stay on as an assistant and Mark Perle, Dave Lausa, and Vieng (Vin) Vongsakoun will continue their roles until Peter can work with them and get a more formal coaching structure arranged.
Mark Price, as payment for coaching, has purchased a truck on the clubs behalf to let Peter use it while he is coaching. This is a huge step for the club but not unprecedented. We paid both Steve MacKinnon and Scott Poindexter a small sum for their coaching services.
This time we have provided a vehicle, which is unprecedented and I only mention it as a special thank you to Mark for putting in the time and effort and money to make this happen.

With the landscape of our Union being completely reshaped, it is a critical time for us as a club to grow and compete at a higher level. I believe that Peter gives the best at this and am excited for the Fall season.

We are meeting him at the Rover tomorrow night and you are all welcome to come and meet him after 8p.

Thanks,
Tom Vyles-

Wanted to give everyone the scoop on the weekend. So we won our first game against New Mexico tech by a fairly large margin then had a tight game which we also won against San Luis Obispo and then won our third match against Chico. In the semi final we won against Ventura in a very close match. The final we were against Belmont Shore and it was an extremely difficult game. We unfortunately did not win the last but as always probably had the most fun of any team and came away with not many injuries other then Alan in the first game getting his shoulder injured. Everyone played well and thanks to everyone who made it. I believe Adam has the 2nd place plaque to give to the rover. Attached are a few pics for anyone interested.

Congrats, gents.  Looks like a great time and great place, as usual.  Hated
missing it this year, but hope to be back next year to reclaim the title.
Enjoyed the pics as well, except for Timmy's "brain" shots.
