New Board Members, Chairpersons, and Committee Members
We’d like to welcome our newly elected Vuecrest HOA Directors to the board. Congratulations Stacia Smith and Lew Thayer! We’re so happy that you’ve joined the team and will be dedicating some of your valuable time and effort to our community!
The other side of a welcome is the need to say goodbye to some totally “stand up” people who have served our community with countless hours of dedication for the last few years. Chris Bodiford and Carlos de Torres are the two Directors who will be stepping down this year. Carlos was new to the neighborhood and jumped right in to fill an unexpected vacant Directorship. Even with a very full schedule, he has been a huge advocate for the safety of our community and has dedicated many hours of investigative work to that task. Chris Bodiford is stepping down from two back to back terms. During that time, he served five years as President and implemented many much needed processes and procedures that will serve us well in the future. He really put his heart into this effort and has dedicated countless hours to our community. He’s definitely been one of the most accessible Presidents and will be remembered as being entirely selfless with his time. It has been a privilege.
Our full cast of volunteers for 2024 will be announced in the next newsletter. So, now is the very best time to get involved, step out of your comfort zone, take the plunge, fill the gap, push the envelope, and meet a new neighbor. Don’t get freaked out, it’s a piece of pumpkin pie. No prior experience necessary, no long-term commitment and you don’t have to sign anything. It’s just good human stuff on your terms. Here’s a sample of opportunities and committees that would welcome your enthusiasm. Social Events, Safety, Welcoming, Landscaping, Architecture/Building, Newsletter, Good Neighbor, Finance, Communications, Secretarial, Web/Social Media, and Christmas Lighting. Please email directors@vuecrest.net mailto:directors@vuecrest.net if you have interest or any questions.
Annual Assessments
Our annual Vuecrest assessments will be due at the end of January. This is a one-time annual assessment payment of $441 to meet Vuecrest budget needs. It’s still an absolute bargain considering most Bellevue condominiums average over $1500 a month! Hmmmm... $441 a year versus $18,000 a year, I’m feeling thankful! Please make your payment a priority. It’s just no fun, costly and time consuming to chase down annual assessments that are not paid on time. The assessment request will be coming to you soon.

CALENDAR ITEMS:
Vuecrest Book Club (Meeting IN PERSON)
Vuecrest has its own Book Club and all residents are welcome to attend. We meet once a month at 7PM, usually on the first Monday, at various members’ homes. The VC Book Club has an “open-read” format, that is, there is no “chosen” book. We all gather to discuss what we had read since our last meeting. And for those too busy to read, feel free to come and enjoy the friendship and share a little wine and conversation with your neighbors. And you just might hear about a book you’d like to read in the future! Email Mara Pitkethly dtpit@uw.edu mailto:dtpit@uw.edu for details.
Monthly Board Meeting (Remote) Thursday, December 7th at 6:00P
This month’s board meeting will be held remotely. To join the meeting use the link or dial-in information below. Everyone is welcome to join. Please let the Directors know at least three days in advance if you will be bringing any items for discussion so they may be included in the agenda.

Refurbished Mailboxes
Have you noticed that some of the mailboxes in our neighborhood need a face lift? Gratefully, some of our neighbors on Hilltop just brought theirs back to “star-quality.” They let us know that the all-in price for labor and supplies was only $425. Thanks Annalee for sharing the information (Sorry, I couldn’t get the pictures to reproduce for the Newsletter). You can see how nice it looks at 9619 Hilltop.
