For small businesses with 10 or fewer employees who have a physical location in Tacoma and have been in business in Tacoma for one year. You can borrow up to $15,000 at 75% of the current prime rate with a 5-year amortization and no repayment for the first year. Loan funds are to be used for working capital. Businesses must be able to document a significant loss of revenue/sales due to COVID-19. Please note that the last day to submit a COVID-19 pre-application to be considered for the loan is Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at 5 p.m. Pacific Time. * NEW: Pierce County Assessor Extends Property Tax Due Date to June 1, 2020. This tax deferral is provided for the first-half property tax payments originally due by April 30, 2020. Interest charges will not be assessed on payments made by June 1, 2020. * NEW: SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) and Loan Advance. For small businesses (those with up to 500 employees), including non-profit organizations, that have incurred financial losses related to COVID-19. You can borrow up to $2 million at 3.75% interest fixed with up to a 30-year amortization based on repayment ability. Loan funds are to be used for fixed assets, payroll, accounts payable and other bills due to COVID-19. Apply for a $10,000 loan advance (grant) with your Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL). During a webinar on April 3, 2020, SBA District Director Kerrie Hurd advised all businesses to reapply that made application for EIDL prior to March 30, 2020. The new streamlined application will speed up processing of the loan and loan advance request. * NEW: Paycheck Protection Program. For small businesses (those with up to 500 employees) and eligible non-profit organizations, veterans organizations and tribal businesses described in the Small Business Act and self-employed individuals/independent contractors (if they meet program size standards), to retain workers on their payroll. SBA will forgive loans if all employees remain on the payroll for eight weeks, and the money is used for payroll, rent, mortgage interest or utilities. Businesses may apply through any existing SBA 7(a) lender. Consult with your local lender as to whether it is participating in the program. Apply ASAP through your lender as demand for these funds is intense nationwide. * NEW: Employee Retention Tax Credit. Businesses may be eligible to take the Employee Retention Tax Credit designed to encourage businesses to keep employees on their payroll. The refundable tax credit is 50% of up to $10,000 in wages paid by an eligible employer whose business has been financially impacted by COVID-19. * NEW: SBA Express Bridge Loan Pilot Program. This pilot program allows SBA Express Lenders authority to deliver expedited SBA-guaranteed financing on an emergency basis for disaster-related purposes to eligible small businesses while they apply for and await long-term financing. Up to $25,000 is available with a fast turnaround that can be repaid in full or in part by proceeds from the Economic Injury Disaster Loan. * NEW: SBA Debt Relief. The SBA will pay the principal and interest for six months of existing 7(a) loans and new 7(a) loans issued prior to September 27, 2020. Loans eligible for this relief include those guaranteed by the SBA, such as the SBA Business Loan Program and others (excluding the Paycheck Protection Program). More details are provided on the SBA COVID-19 resource page. * NEW: Export-Import Bank of the U.S. The Export-Import Bank of the U.S. (EXIM) has announced relief provisions for exporters and financial institutions throughout the U.S. that may have been affected by COVID-19. Relief measures include waivers, deadlines extensions, flexibility, streamlined processing and others to enable businesses to return to their business concerns and EXIM-related obligations at an appropriate time without penalty.
