To All - In all my years of racing, I'm not sure I've seen such intense competition in the cruising fleet. The spinnaker group is on fire with Encore throwing down the gauntlet every week, both Sundays and Wednesdays. Once again she won tonight by nearly 3 minutes on corrected time. And Lou Spitz, in Merry Chase, is now the boat to beat. It must be the red crew shirts! It was another beautiful night on the river with a northwest wind at 10 - 15 mph, warm and shifty with little current. Some folks stayed out late and came back reporting they had watched the start of the Perseid meteor showers in the northeast sky. Awesome. We have three more Wednesday nights of racing, followed by the Pursuit Turkey Race on September 9th. See you on the water! Lee
