Any recommendations for a boat yard in Chesapeake vicinity for long-term dry storage, with the usual complement of diesel mechanics, bottom painters, canvas, etc?

Can recommend Herrington Harbour North in Deal, Maryland (central Bay). All
services on site, clean and safe, but probably not the cheapest.

I will reinforce "NOT THE CHEAPEST" at Herrington Harbor. They nailed me
good with billing when I had my boat there once.
Bring your big fat wallet if you choose them.

Try Warton Creek Marina
http://wortoncreek.com/

Over on the west side at the beginning of the Potapsco River (that leads to
Baltimore) try
Anchor Bay East Marina
8500 Cove Road
Dundalk, MD 21222
410-284-1044

I have several friends that have used Anchor Bay for winter storage and
service. I don't know anything about their rates.

Since you're looking for a boat yard, not a marina, I'd suggest any of
the boat yards in Solomons, Maryland, including Washburn's and
Zahnizer's. Washburn's was known for it's work with trawlers and I
always found them very competitive price-wise and extremely
knowledgeable about all things boating. Zanhizer's also has a good
reputation and a visit there illustrates a very busy yard. Both have
haul-out capabilities and storage on the hard. Washburn's has a marine
railway so it can handle very large vessels.

They both have sites on the internet with contact information.

Zanhizer's is also a fully operating marina with a lot of nice amenities
and is within walking distance of a number of restaurants.

For what it's worth - the new owner of the Mischief told us he was overjoyed we had our fuel problem where we did (southern Ches.) rather than where he had a marina slip (Deal, MD) since the southern part is mainly watermen and the prices are much lower.

I don't remember the specific name of the harbor we got Mischief to, but its on the last movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMjo9bof9Mg a slip was $135 a month with shower, water, power (unheard of here).

If staying at Herrington Harbor North use Mike McCook for mechanical work.
He is reliable and reasonable.  His shop is next door to the prop shop up by
the Tiki Bar.  Larry
