Hi!

Our 16 month old just had his annual bloodwork done. Our vet being proactive ran the cardiac blood panel as well. His proBNP came back elevated. She said this could be normal since he’s a Newfoundland, but she recommended going to the U of MN for an echo and complete work up just to be sure.

Given that he’s had two surgeries for elbow displasia, and his his recheck coming up at MIZZOU at the end of June, I agree with her plan.

Does anyone have experience with Dr Stouthammer at U of MN?

Anyone have personal experience with cardiac issues with their newf?

I love the U….they tested and discovered ‘Myasthenia Gravis’ in my Newf…Can’t remember the Doc’s name but everyone there was super great!! Your’s will be in good hands there….Good luck… fingers crossed 😊

Yes he is amazing he treated my girl India from the age of 7 til she was 14. 14 she lived till with treatment. The first visit was costly but once on the right meds it was just once a year.

Yes, Dr Chris is great.
He used to do all our heart clinics when our Specialty show was in St.
Cloud.
He very easy to work with and does an excellent job of explaining things
when needed.
