I won't be crossing this year but have been into Cedar Key, be careful
going in, the channel is crooked but was well marked, be sure  to follow all
the markers well and especially on the way out if you  leave by the Southern
entrance.
Personally, others may have a different opinion, I  didn't like the
anchorage off the boat ramp much and  didn't find much  to enjoy in town. I
would, and do, carry on to Tarpon Springs if  possible.

We did enjoy Crystal River a lot, but it Is a long haul up there  from the
Gulf, worth it if you want to spend a few days up there.
