Mickle,

Do you have a translation to English?

Hi, Fabio!
Zener TC correction in the 7061 and 7071/7081 is very simple. Recently I
wrote a
small article about TC correction methods in precision DMMs and calibrators:
http://www.radiokot.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=52829&start=60 (sorry, but
in
Russian). It is possible to achieve 0.1 ppm/C temperature drift by choosing
the
proper coefficients of the quadratic function. But 7061 maintenance manual -
it's amazing!

Joe, Fabio,
I'll try to translate the article into English.

P.S. Fabio, Solartron 7075 internals is rather interesting! Thank you!

Hi,

I'm late to this thread, but never had much luck with telford. Even before the web, they had lists with no prices and were poor at getting back with prices and availability. Maybe if I was buying big ticket items they may have paid more attention.  What some dealers don't realise is the hobby buyer may also have significant input to bigger company purchases.

Another update, maybe if someone wants to buy from Telford wants to know what happens to me:
Telford answered me 6/mar and was helpful, also we agreed on the price (2 manuals instead of one :), 8/mar I sent the payment trough paypal.
12/mar I sent a mail, asking fot aknowledgment of payment, delivery date etc, no more answers so far :( Now I hope at least I'll receive the manuals soon, I'll let you know.

Little update: tried shorting SP2 jumper but the meter stops
reading DC volts, like if the input is disconnected, no more tests
on this, I disconnected the jumper like as before...
strange ?

Hi, Fabio!
Can you make a scan copy of the Solartron 7061 maintenance manual pages with the
description of temperature compensation for the reference diode? It is very
interesting! Are the Zener temperature tests was described in the manual?

Mickle, I didnt have the time to study the manual yet,
I'm working on the 7075 now
(this bastard performs self check correctly and as soon
as it exits from the test it locks :(  ).
I'll scan the relevant pages as soon as I can.

Mickle, here are 3 pages from the manual.
I'm sorry for the quality.
The pages refer to the eventuality to have to replace
the reference diode, in this case the current has to
be set for the minimum Tc.
So, as far as I understand, there is no "second order"
temperature compensation, only there is hardware selection
of minumum TC diode current.
The reference schematic is a simplified version of 7081's one:
it lacks DAC current selection and TC correction circuitry.
So not that much interesting perhaps :)

Remains to be understood what does the instrument every 15minutes
when it makes "drift correction".
