Thank you, Georgs, I think it is very important that someone set the record
straight.

I have tolerated Graham Pfister's recent rantings up until now, but everyone
has their limit, and the blathering idiot, Graham Pfister, has finally
pushed me past mine.  As a former customer, as Graham stated, and the only
potentially injured party in this irrational rant of his, allow me to shed
some truth on the subject.

Being an anal engineering type (probably redundant) I decided to have a
catamaran built and found the 'TrawlerCat' design as close to my liking as I
thought I could ever find.  There had been two boats constructed on the east
coast of Canada (one fiberglass and one aluminum).  Graham was only
peripherally involved (according to the owners).  Graham is neither a
designer nor the originator of the 'TrawlerCat' concept.  The original
design was by Crowther.  Perhaps Graham thought of the name to describe the
vessel, but I have never even seen that much creativity from him.  I have 3
engineering degrees myself and am in a position to recognize a designer when
I talk to one and I have met Graham on two occasions.

I did extensive due diligence before I signed a contract for many hundreds
of thousands of dollars for a boat with Pacific Coast Boats.  I found that
Graham had overseen a unit built in western Canada and the vessel floated
nearly a foot above the intended waterline.  Graham declared this the
builder's fault even though he oversaw the complete construction.  I never
found a single boat where he was fully involved that turned out successful.
I found John Shaw to have successfully built numerous boats, including one
over 100-ft.  He was also finishing a 52-ft motorsailer at the time and I
was able to see the vessel and talk to the buyer.  The buyer remains a
friend of mine and John's.  I met and spoke to John numerous times before I
signed a contract.  It was confidence in John, in spite of Graham, that
swayed me to buy the boat.

As it turned out, after collecting his salary for nearly a year without
contributing anything to the boat's construction, Graham finally just walked
out on the contract.  I'm sure it again was the builder's fault; everything
is always the builder's fault.  I heard yesterday's rant out of Graham at
that time.  He also gave me a list of names of supposed parties that John
had harmed that I had not pursued previously.  I followed each one to the
source and found nothing of substance.  I then had a Chinese graduate
student's family check on the 3 boats Graham claimed he built and were held
up by the Chinese authorities.  I found that the boats actually were held up
in Chinese courts, but because the owners had brought suit against Graham.
In fact I can provide anyone interested with copies of the extensive
monetary settlement the Chinese courts issued against Graham because the
boats are not seaworthy.  Undoubtedly another builder's fault, but again he
oversaw the whole process.

John Shaw and Pacific Expedition Yachts have continued to honor my contract
after Graham turned his back and fled to Canada.  Granted, the timeline for
the build was significantly extended due to the drain of money by Graham.
Graham's default on the contract ending up costing me an additional
$150,000.00 (not to mention time) and I have little hope of ever collecting
from him.  My agents have never been able to find him in the US so that he
could be served.  Meanwhile he continues to use photos of my boat, some
including my image, while trolling for his next customer.

I have no idea why he decided to attack John's new partner.  I think any of
us would have contacted Graham under the circumstances.  How else would one
have performed reasonable due diligence before starting a new business with
John?  Pacific Expedition's new designs, although similar in profile, have
made some great functional improvements to Crowther's work, and I am
jealous, but happy to have a solid boat that rides high in the water.

It is truly a sad situation when someone like Graham (like too many others
in this industry) just sits around and tries to make himself look better by
making everyone else look badly.  It rather resembles today's politics.
