Dear CITASA Members,
I write to you today hoping that your semester is winding down and you are enjoying this holiday season. There are 3 items that I need your assistance with for our section.
Chair-Elect (who then becomes Chair and past Chair)
Secretary-Treasurer (2 year terms)
2 Council positions (2 year terms)
If you are interested in serving in one of these positions, please send an email to: citasa.ics@gmail.commailto:citasa.ics@gmail.com by 12/27/12. In your email, note which position you are interested in running for and a few sentences about why you are interested in holding this position. According to ASA rules, we have to have 2 people running for each position. Please consider nominating yourself or others!
CITASA also needs someone to take over the website and listserv. This could be two faculty working together, a faculty member and student, other combinations, or one person. We have someone who had volunteered but unfortunately it has not worked out for him to continue solely in this role. It might be possible for him to still assist if someone else was able to help him. If you can help the section with this very important task, please email me directly at cotten@uab.edumailto:cotten@uab.edu before the end of December.
CITASA normally has their reception offsite at the ASA annual meeting. If there are CITASA members who know of good places near the ASA conference hotels in New York, please let me know. And, if there is someone who would like to work with me to plan the reception, I would be very happy to have your help! If interested, please email me at cotten@uab.edumailto:cotten@uab.edu by the end of December.
Sorry for the long email but these are important issues. I look forward to receiving your replies at the above noted email addresses.
I wish you all safe, happy, and healthy holidays!
