Plus, save the date for the rest of June... | | | | View this email in your browser | | | | | | | | | | | Opening Weekend June 4-6! | | | | | | | | | | | June 4: Lantern Paddle for Species Get out your kayaks, paddleboards and LEDs - Tacoma's first-ever Lantern Paddle is coming to the Foss Waterway as part of Ocean Fest 2021! 7-9pm: Hear the PLU Steel Pan Ensemble play Caribbean vibes and gaze at aerialist Deanna Riley, both outside the Foss Waterway Seaport, 705 Dock St. You'll also see the Seventy48 paddle race as it heads to Port Townsend! 9pm: Launch your lighted paddlecraft along the waterway or bring lights and watch on land. We'll have projection light art, orca lanterns and music. Afterwards: It's all about protecting endangered marine species. Toss it in a Trashoctopus!  That's the Tacoma Shoreline Survey & Cleanup, from 9am-1pm June 5. Clean up one of Tacoma's beaches and count the trash for science.
