June 4: Lantern Paddle for Species
Get out your kayaks, paddleboards and LEDs - Tacoma's first-ever Lantern Paddle is coming to the Foss Waterway as part of Ocean Fest 2021!
7-9pm: Hear the PLU Steel Pan Ensemble play Caribbean vibes and gaze at aerialist Deanna Riley, both outside the Foss Waterway Seaport, 705 Dock St. You'll also see the Seventy48 paddle race as it heads to Port Townsend!
9pm: Launch your lighted paddlecraft along the waterway or bring lights and watch on land. We'll have projection light art, orca lanterns and music.
Afterwards: It's all about protecting endangered marine species. Find out how on our page.  |

June 5: Shoreline Survey & Cleanup

Pick up trash! Count it! Toss it in a Trashoctopus! 
That's the Tacoma Shoreline Survey & Cleanup, from 9am-1pm June 5. Clean up one of Tacoma's beaches and count the trash for science. Then find our Trashoctopus sculpture at Jack Hyde Park! Sign up now.  |

June 6: Festival Day!

Immersive ocean art, music, dance, OceanX talks, kayak tryouts, eco-booths and a new digital Ocean Action Game - it's all here at Tacoma Ocean Fest 2021. From 10am - 5pm at the Foss Waterway Seaport you can celebrate and learn how to protect the ocean. (An ice cream truck too!) Free, with Covid-19 safety protocol.
